Spotting a scam email

Help protect yourself from email scams by learning how to spot common signs of fraud.
As with any communication from anyone, if you receive an email that looks suspicious, do not respond, nor click on links or attachments. Simply delete it. Be extra cautious of any email that:
- Has incorrect logos, typos or looks strange
- Contains suspicious website links
- Includes attachments and software
- False sense of urgency
Email scammers typically create a false sense of urgency. The quicker they can get you to respond, the sooner they can swipe your money and be gone.
If in doubt about any urgent communication claiming to be from us, contact us at our published number. Never rush to act from information sent in an email until you are certain the message is legit.
Too good to be true
Email scammers often use promises of free money, lottery wins, amazing opportunities, or unsolicited job offers. Don’t fall for it — and never give them personal, credit card or account information.
